In the middle of December we received a call from a very good customer with very discerning taste. He had received our “Last Minute Gift Suggestions” e-mail and he wanted to create something beautiful and different for his wife to celebrate the New Year. We had made several pieces of jewelry for him in the past and this time he was inspired by the Platinum and Fancy Vivid Pink Diamond Channel Set Band featured in our blog post on 12/6/10.  He wanted something along the same lines but with much larger vivid pink sapphires of about 3.65 mm in diameter.

Brian spoke with him on the phone and made some suggestions, but being that he trusted Brian implicitly, he left it all up to him and his creativity. We e-mailed the CAD rendering to him and he gave us the green light to continue. All the milgrain work was done by hand after the ring had been cast and the diamond melee was F/G VS Brian Gavin Signature melee. The process and the finished piece is featured in the picture gallery below.

Needless to say his wife was thrilled with the result.  We received a text message late at night after he had given it to her.

In August Layla started speaking with us about creating a diamond band for her. She was initially interested in a version of Lesley’s new rose gold and platinum diamond band but decided that she wanted to incorporate some certified Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamonds. She sent us several inspiration pictures from different websites to illustrate what she envisioned.

The project was put on hold temporarily and 3 weeks ago she called in that she was ready to get started. She worked with Brian to select 5 x 0.31 to 0.32 ct G SI1 Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamonds which would be set together with 8 x .10 ct F/G VS Brian Gavin Signature melee. We e-mailed her the first CAD rendition, and after she requested feedback on Pricescope, we made some subtle changes, e-mailed her the second CAD for approval and then milled the wax.

Layla had requested that in addition to the usual Glamor Shots that are included with every Brian Gavin piece, we provide her with pictures of the wax and empty casting, which we built into the final price.

WOW. It looks so delicate and beautiful. It turned out amazing. And that's WITHOUT the jaw dropping diamonds! I can't wait to open that box!

Needless to say, the finished piece was a masterpiece. The diamonds were all set with fine prongs and the underside of the shank was hand milgrained to provide the finishing touch. Layla named her diamond band after Aurora, the Roman Goddess of the Dawn

I ADORE IT. I absolutely adore it. And there is nothing understated about it. It is just amazing.

In September, Nicolas wrote in inquiring about our recut service as he was interested in improving the cut quality of the diamond he had recently purchased. He sent it in for a recut consultation by Brian, who evaluated the diamond and recommended that he not recut it as it was a well cut stone, the structure of the stone presented some aspect of risk and there would be a loss of value.

Nicolas then worked with us to create a beautiful 18K white gold custom halo engagement ring and matching wedding band, set with F/G VS Brian Gavin Signature melee and finished off with hand milgrain work.  We received the following e-mail a few days ago:

Hello Denise,

I was thinking of waiting until Christmas to propose but I just couldn't wait to give Amanda the ring. So, after a romantic dinner prepared at home while enjoying a glass of nice red wine in front of the fireplace I mustered the courage and asked Amanda if she would spend the rest of her life with me. She said YES! Her reaction was overwhelming…she LOVED the ring…and when I told her about Brian Gavin Diamonds and her unique custom made ring she was very intrigued and curious to know whether there would one day be an "Amanda" ring on your website? (She said she would be flattered if there was). The only thing left for us to do is to announce the engagement to our families over Christmas, and get our wedding plans rolling!

Having said all that I'm definitely past due in expressing my gratitude to yourself, Brian and the rest of your team there at BrianGavinDiamonds  for making this a wonderful experience and for producing such a gorgeous product. I know that Amanda is already getting complements on her ring from friends and colleagues at work and your company name is getting a LOT of credit for your high quality skill and craftsmanship.

Frank first contacted us in October 2009 inquiring about having us create a magnificent custom platinum and diamond band for his future wife.

I've read and heard awesome reviews for BGD on Pricescope and from 2 friends that I referred to recently purchase diamonds from you (Shawn and Ryan) hence, I'm interested in having you create a custom wedding band for my fiancé.

He provided us with pictures and fine details of what he wanted and then he decided to wait until after the New Year to place his order. He got back to us in early April and we got started on this very detailed project. He had a special request that there should be 188 Brian Gavin Signature diamond melee stones. In order to accommodate that request, since we had calculated that we would use 186 stones, we set 2 surprise diamonds on the inside!  All the fine milgrain work was done by hand and the result was spectacular. The wedding date was last Saturday, May 22. Due to the complexity of the project we ended up shipping the ring last Friday, May 21! Frank stopped by the FedEx Station on Saturday morning  at 9 a.m. to pick up the ring and the wedding ceremony was at noon!! We haven’t heard from him yet but when we do we will share his reactions and hopefully some pictures!

In August we were contacted by a customer wanting to purchase an asscher cut diamond and have Brian create her dream engagement ring. We sourced her two beautiful asscher cut diamonds and she made her selection. She then e-mailed us inspiration pictures for the setting and Brian realized that in order to get the effect that she was aiming for,  he would have to custom cut the French cut diamond side stones. Once all the specs of the diamonds were finalized, the CAD was created, the setting was cast, the diamonds were all bezel set and we put the finishing touches, including the very fine milgrain, to the magnificent ring.

Brian and Lesley – There just aren't enough words to tell you how happy I am! Honestly, I've been putting off writing this because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do your beautiful creation justice! I've spent the last two days in a bit of a daze — both at the prospect of marrying my favorite person in the world and at the absolutely stunning ring that I'm now sporting! It is exactly what I'd wanted and your patience with all of my questions — and tolerance for my amateurish photoshop "sketches" of my "dream ring" — was no less than the raves that fellow Pricescopers have described, and yet was still so far above and beyond what most organizations consider customer services that I have been in awe. Your dedication to your craft was clear to me from the moment we first spoke and is now evident to anyone who is within — oh, I don't know, a 50-foot radius? of this lovely ring.
