• Lesley and Brian, I'm sorry this message is being sent so late to you, but I've just been swamped with my move. The ring blew both of us away, and she now is a proponent of Brian's work. Everyone wants to see the engraving and surprise sapphire on the inside, but she refuses to take it off. She says it looks better and better every day. • Hi Lesley and Brian, I had such a super exciting day on Friday, as you can imagine. I woke up to find these gorgeous glamour shots and as soon as it was available for pickup I rushed over to Fedex with my pajama's on! I swear! I got home safely and was so happy to see my diamond in its new home. The Grace setting is absolutely beautiful in person. All I see is the diamond, as if its floating. Everytime I look at the diamond, I am just blown away and the 4-prongs really shows it! It's truly an amazing stone. (Can you tell Im in love with it again!) • Hi Brian/Lesley, I just wanted to touch base with you both now to say thank you again – though it was tough holding onto the ring for those weeks between its arrival and the proposal, I'm happy to report that everything went just as planned. We were both thrilled with how the setting turned out, I can easily say that it exceeded my own expectations which, as I'm sure Lesley can attest, were quite high. Even the smallest stones in the setting sparkle as if they were on fire, and I still catch her (and people around her) staring at it for minutes at a time without even realizing it: it's just that hypnotizing. As a special aside to Brian; the first thing she said upon detailed examination of the ring was how much she loved the milgrain finish on the sides of the ring, which of course proves once again how dead-on your sense of aesthetic is (as if it needed any confirmation). Hi, FedEx just dropped of the diamond. Oh My gosh. What an amazing stone!!! You have made my dreams come true. I will spend more time looking at it tomorrow when I have a moment to myself (my husband is taking the kids out to a friends while I prep for dinner and make deserts). My kids are running around right now and I am prepping the christmas turkey so no real time to look at this magnificent stone. I am totally impressed with the packaging,  the added loupe and gloves. What an amazing experience. I have been looking for this diamond for over a year and I am just so happy with BGD . Many many thanks. Lesley, the earrings are beautiful!  I obsessively stalked the FedEx website this morning and immediately went to pick them up as soon as I saw they had arrived.  I opened the box and my first reaction was  - wow, they look much bigger than I expected!  Although I'm slightly self-conscious, I'm sure that will pass soon as DSS sets in!  My second reaction was that I couldn't believe how amazingly brilliant and sparkly they are.  I know the stones I traded in were well-cut stones, but I can really see the difference between those stones and these beauties.  I wondered if I could see the difference between well cut stones and ideal H&A, and I definitely can!  I'm just wowed!  I'm sure it helps that these stones are also bigger!  The K warmth is just slightly apparent, but well worth the trade-off for this pair.  Thank you all, again, for the tracking down these stones for me and rushing to get them to me in time for Christmas.  They are the perfect Christmas gift!  Jill

Dear Lesley, I got the package! I tore open the main box and found the 2 separate packages inside. Let me share with you, the necklace is beautiful, but you already knew that! . Hey Lesley, Picked them up at the FedEx Depot this late am, you guys do an amazing packing job, I cannot believe all the boxes and inner boxes you use.  It took me 5 min just to get to the studs! Well, they are beautiful.  I am very glad I went with the La Pousette's, I was playing with them and they just don't slip off, if they slide down the post, they catch very firmly on the groove, looks like 2 grooves on the post.  She is going to love them and thank you again for all of your hard work, matching the pairs, and the beautiful finished product.  I will post them on PS, if you have any other pics, please email them to me today so I can incorporate them in the post.  Have a Happy Holiday and a Happy, and especially Healthy New Year.  I am sure you will need the rest after a hectic Christmas season.  I heard you don't sleep! Lesley and Brian, I wanted to let you know we got the ring yesterday (12/24) and it fits perfectly! I must tell you I am so impressed with Brian's workmanship. I have a couple other upscale platinum pieces, but the design detail and finishing on this ring is by far superior. Everything — the prongs, the bezel, the proportions, and the finish….is perfection. And the fire and brilliance of the diamonds is a site to behold! At this point I've had the pleasure of showing it off a bit, and the responses are amazing. Everyone is blown away by this ring! In October we received an e-mail from an Australian customer who had purchased a beautiful 4.27 carat supernova oval cut by Barry Bridgestock and was interested in having Brian design a setting for it. She was not really sure what she wanted re: metal color and design, but had collected several pictures and had created a Word document which she e-mailed in.

I have seen that Brian has a wonderful design aesthetic, so am hoping that he will be able to help me out with design, since I haven't been able to work out what I'm wanting.

Brian had a couple of long phone conversations with her and then we made arrangements to help her ship the stone to us. Having the stone in hand helped Brian to finalize the design.  He suggested a design that he had been working on for a while and she loved it. The final ring was created to the specifications of the stones using CAD and the renderings were e-mailed to her for approval. The finished ring, which included bezel set Brian Gavin Signature melee and marquise diamonds, was breathtaking. We managed to ship it out in time for her to receive it on Christmas Eve:

Dear Brian and Lesley, This will just be a quick email as I am on my i phone I just wanted to let you know my ring arrived today (and before Christmas yay!) and it is truly exquisite really a work of art. I thought it looked magnificent in Brian's photos but it somehow manages to look more amazing in real life. I'm thrilled with it and my husband thinks it looks like a fancy designer jewellery house – but couldn't think who he was thinking of – but I'd say that is a compliment from him I have been thrilled with the process of buying from Brian Gavin Diamonds. So far, we have made two different styles, one with open backs and one with a heart shaped design on the back. Both styles are 18K white gold and we use 1.5mm (.015ct) F/G VS Brian Gavin Signature melee.

We also create customized earring jackets and just shipped a pair that was custom made using 2.4mm (.05ct) H/I SI Brian Gavin Signature melee.

Dear Lesley, I received my earring jackets today, and they are just what I had imagined in my mind! They are so sparkly, and fit my earring studs perfectly. The stud only sticks out minimally, and if it were any lower I think the air line between the stud and jacket would have been too noticeable, so it's a good balance. • Hi Lesley, I picked up the package this evening (had to take my oldest son to move in – freshman year in college and we didn't get back in town until almost 7pm!) • Hi Lesley, I received the pendant yesterday. It is lovely. I wore it to work and have received so many compliments on how shiny and sparkly the diamonds are. I noticed that my clients' eyes were drawn to the pendant as they were speaking to me… it was just surreal. I didn't even have this experience with my heart pendant custom-made by WF!  The workmanship is good and I am pleased with the pendant. Only thing was that the chain was a bit too short. In the middle of July we received an e-mail from a previous customer who wanted to upgrade her A Cut Above diamond earrings for larger Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows Diamond Earrings to celebrate her 10^th wedding anniversary.  Being that her diamonds had been graded prior to November 2008, per our upgrade policy we were happy to give her full credit on the first set of diamonds towards the new, larger diamonds. The first set was .40ct each and she upgraded to .75ct each which were set into three prong martini settings.  She received the earrings and excitedly wrote:

…Brian and Lesley, All I can say is wow, the pictures look amazing! And you sent this at 3:30 a.m? The dedication to the work you guys do is beyond compare. You are correct the ring looks truly amazing!!! I stared at it the majority of the morning at the office. Even slipped it on a friend of mines finger, and every way I looked at it, it is beautiful! It's not as fancy as some of the other work you have done and blogged about, but it is classically and simply gorgeous, exactly what I was looking for. I know when she receives it she will be as excited as I am. I look forward to working with you, on the band to go with this ring. I dropped the ring off over lunch at a local appraiser to get the documentation for getting the ring insured. Want to make sure it is insured before I pack it for a trip to Florida. Any suggestions on sneaking a ring on a plane down to Florida without Melissa seeing it? Only way I can think of is carry on luggage. As far as naming the ring “Melissa”, I don't have a problem with using that name.  I will make sure I drop you a line to let you know how everything goes. Thanks so much… Ben

…While I was in the appraiser’s office I saw a certificate for a Brian Gavin stone. The BG stone itself was not there but I was told that it was very well cut, hearts + arrows and the stats on the certificate were off the charts great. While the Blue Nile stone I had brought in had excellent arrows, the hearts were garbage. The appraiser went on to tell me that stones don't necessarily need hearts to perform well and that the stone I brought was a excellent choice, but I figure why not go the distance and pick out a stone that was perfectly cut. I went home and learned more about Brian Gavin through pricescope and your websites.. and now here I am =) Thanks… James

…Oh my gaaaaaaawd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brian is a genius! I am absolutely floored just by those images and I haven't even seen the diamond in person. ..Hi Lesley, I picked up the bracelet this morning and it is gorgeous! I was a little worried about the bulkiness of the Stuller setting, but it's actually very delicate in person. I definitely didn't need an extra jump ring, the bracelet is a little too big. It looks very elegant on, I plan on taking some pictures tomorrow. Your  photos you sent me yesterday don't do the diamond justice! The diamond may be small, but it is a firecracker! I can't wait to add more stones. Hi Lesley! The ring is BEAUTIFUL! The diamond itself looked bigger than I imagined it would and the thing sparkles like crazy! I proposed over last weekend in Sedona. She didn't know it was coming and we really lucked out on the ring size because it fit her perfectly We stayed at an incredible B&B overlooking Cathedral Rock and I proposed at sun down while we were on the patio after dinner. Everything went better than I could have ever expected. She said "Absolutely Yes!" and after the sun went down the owners of the B&B snuck in our room and littered it with rose peddles, champagne & chocolate fondue with strawberries leading to the Jacuzzi tub. She said the ring was PERFECT and loved what I selected for her. She can't stop looking at her hand now Thank you again for all your help and patience with me!… Mike
