I proposed to Christine a few weeks back while we were on a trip to Japan and everything went perfectly, except for the weather – but that just gives us another reason to go back one day. I honestly have to say that the ring looks absolutely beautiful and pictures of it really don't do it justice. It goes without saying, Christine loved the ring. The service and care for the customer that you guys provided really impressed me through the entire process and certainly gave me peace of mind in making such a significant purchase from long-distance. Hi Lesley, I just picked up the ring from Fedex and it SURPASSES all of my expectations, it is one of the few times I can honestly say that the photos don't do it justice. I love everything about it. It has the perfect amount of flow in the design, the pavee diamonds in the band look amazing, but my favorite feature of it has to be the mount that the main stone is set in. It looks stunning and is so well done. I cannot sufficiently express how happy I am with this ring. The box it came in even looks great! I'll definitely be using it when I propose. The proposal isn't until August 14th (so 1.5 weeks) and I'm going to have a hard time waiting to give it to her. I have no doubt that she will love it. I have told several friends about your work, and I honestly have to say that the pieces speak for themselves in terms of the quality and beauty of BGD's diamonds and workmanship! Sorry I am just emailing you – we are in the last day of a 3-day, 34-home community garage sale. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday evening until midnight staging and tagging items, and spent all day Thursday and Friday with the sale. Dear Leslie, I finally got to see it in person after drooling over the e-mailed photos for weeks. It is just magnificent! It has so much more sparkle than I expected. The effect of having 5 BG branded stones side by side is just unbelievable! The setting is really lovely too, lets in so much light. I also appreciate how the arrows on all the stones are perfectly lined up with each other. The only constructive critisism I would have: It would be nice to have a BGD logo inside the band. I have picked up the ring. It is finally complete and i feel very much at rest now that the ring is ready and looking incredible. I will be making a small ring box out of wood (probably spalted and figured maple) so that it can fit in my pocket and serve as a personal touch. Thank you for replacing the ring box so that she may use it to store the ring once i give it to her. I will send you picks of the ring in the box after I make it and let you know how the proposal goes (may be a while since my August vacation with her got postponed). The ring is now flawless in my eyes and i am very happy that i chose Brian Gavin Diamonds. Even the photography is a work of art! Loyal Customer’s "Forever" Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows Diamond Engagement Ring…

Last year Kate contacted us wanting to discuss the upgrade of her original A Cut Above Hearts and Arrows diamond that had been cut to Brian’s exacting standards during his tenure at Whiteflash, which ended in December 2008. Being that our upgrade policy includes any A Cut Above H & A diamonds graded before November 2008, she was eligible and sent her diamond in. We unmounted it from the original 6 prong setting and Brian checked it carefully to make sure that it was in its original, undamaged condition, which it was. Ideally she wanted a 2 carat H SI1 or SI2, but being that we did not have one in stock at the time, Brian upgraded her to a 2.09 I SI1 Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamond and set it back into her original setting.

Over the next couple of months Kate watched the database and eventually a beautiful 2.12 H SI2 Brian Gavin Signature H & A came out of the factory. We had Kate send the ring back to us and we changed out the 2.09 for the 2.12 ct and we set it into her original setting. Last month she decided that she was ready to proceed with the creation of her “Forever” Setting and she e-mailed us inspiration pictures and descriptions to go through with Brian. We created the CAD and e-mailed it to her for her approval. We then cast the ring, and finished it off with a row of beautiful Brian Gavin Signature melee set around the middle of the basket. Needless to say she was absolutely thrilled!

Lesley, It has been a pleasure working with you on this jewelry project that has such tremendous personal meaning for me. Hi Lesley! The proposal went perfectly! I proposed to her on the beach at sunset and it was awesome. The ring has been a huge hit everywhere we go now! She constantly gets compliments on it and I am extremely happy with how great it turned out. I can't tell you how many compliments she has gotten on it from complete strangers, it is great. I also had the ring appraised for insurance purposes, and the appraiser commented on what a terrific job the jeweler did on the re-cut of the diamond. Couple Celebrates their 13th Wedding Anniversary with a Brian Gavin Recut and a New Platinum Three Stone Ring…

We created a magnificent 3 stone "Truth x 3" ring last month and we received these beautiful pictures (by photographer Bryan Sutherland) last Thursday. We are posting them here today, Memorial Day, in honor of and in gratitude to all of our servicemen. He is a pilot in the Coast Guards and the story is below:

At the end of January a customer called in about the possible recut of her diamond. She e-mailed in a copy of the certificate for Brian’s review and then, being that they are stationed near Houston, she brought the diamond in with her husband to show Brian and get his feedback. They had a wonderful meeting and Brian agreed to move forward on the recut, which, when done, was to be one of the three stones for a new three stone engagement ring. He predicted that the original diamond weighing 1.02 ct would end up at approximately 0.82 carat. He did a spectacular job of the recut and once done, she selected a beautiful 1.70 carat for the center and a matching 0.82 ct for the third stone – both Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamonds. We set the diamonds in our beautiful Truth x 3 stone setting in platinum. The result was spectacular!!!

From Singapore to Australia , Brian Gavin Continues to Thrill His International Customers…

Dear Lesley, Finally after being held more than 1 day in Singapore, the ring was shipped to us yesterday. Both of us have held our breath and anxiously waiting for it, and it is definitely worth the extra wait. It is gorgeous with the right amount of "bling" and substantial, classic and at the same time modern as we expected. We love it so much the moment we saw it after impatiently going though all the layers of the package, and I can't resist the urge of trying it again and again on my finger just to feel the smooth feeling of the comfort fit ring, and hold it out to the light to see how sparkling it is (although to be honest I wish I had gone for a little bit more carat weight for the diamonds, but anyway, how much is enough, so I'm just being greedy indeed…) I can't wait until our actual wedding day, which is end of November (!!) to be able to officially wear it without Andrew always trying to take it away from me and lock it somewhere I cannot find. Once again thank you all very much for the pleasant experience of working with you, and the beautiful product. Although it was mainly my fiance who had communicated with you, I had always closely followed all the conversations, and admired your customer service. Brian Gavin Modern Cushion Cut Diamond Reset..

Towards the beginning of January we received an inquiry about a diamond recut. The customer was a not happy with the performance of her princess cut and wanted Brian to see what he could do to improve the performance. She sent in her ring, feeling very emotional about being parted from it for the first time. Brian unmounted the princess cut and ran reports on it to calculate the projected weight loss. He decided against the recut as it would have taken the size of the diamond under 1 carat. He discussed the different options with the customer who decided to replace her stone and was interested in our Brian Gavin Signature Modern Cuts. We had to identify a diamond that would fit into the head of her original setting. Brian took pictures of a 1.13 ct and a 1.19ct and we ultimately decided that the 1.13 ct diamond fit better. The finished piece is in the gallery below. On receiving her “new” ring she sent in the following e-mail:

Lesley, Good evening. I picked up my engagement ring with new the diamond, the AGS certificate, and my old diamond at FedEx after work today. I was going to wait to get home to open it, but during the five mile drive, I ended up opening all of the packaging because I just couldn't wait (at red lights of course, safety first)! I could hardly believe my eyes! The new diamond is so gorgeous and my ring looks brand new, actually better than it did when it was brand new! I realize that my ring was pretty banged up when I sent it, and your benchman did an amazing job! The prongs, the milgraining, everything is perfect! His attention to detail is superb. The photos that you sent earlier this afternoon were breathtaking, but don't even compare to how beautiful the stone is in real life! I love how the larger facets give the diamond an antique-y feel, and it's somehow very sparkly white *and* firey! I'm so happy! Brian Gavin’s Rose Gold 5 Stone U-Prong Ring Causes Quite a Stir!!

Brittany’s Rose Gold 5 stone u –prong ring has caused a major stir and is featured here today. She contacted us back in January, before the launch of the website, wanting to reset her current 3 stone engagement ring (2.11 ctw) , create a full eternity rose gold band to go with the 3 stone and then she thought of making her 3 stone into a 7 stone ring. She finally decided to purchase 2 x .50ct Brian Gavin Signature H & A diamonds to add to the 3 stones in her engagement ring and have us create a five stone rose gold u-prong setting for her.

We created the ring using CAD, got approval and the green light and caste the setting. All 5 stones were carefully set, 2 "Surprise" colored gemstones were set inside the shank and pictures were sent to the lucky owner:

Dear Lesley, Guess who, as of Friday, also became a "bezel lady?" WOW the pendant is beautiful. I worried about it being too bulky and big, but it is so perfect in every way. I truly love it! Brian did an amazing job on the recut and my 2 carat stone sparkles to no end. The bezel is delicate and dainty and just what I was after. You know, I will wear it every day. You two have been the best and I appreciate most of all, your outstanding craftsmanship, patience and truly delightful personalities! Thanks again….thinking next, about bezel earrings….hmmmm? Hey Lesley, I have picked up the package today. Even thou I already know the design of the bracelet and how it'd look, I still couldn't help but "wowed" seeing it in person. Hi Lesley, Just dropping you a note to let you know that I received the ring today. This being by far the most expensive thing I have ever purchased online in my life, I was undoubtedly scared at first. But after reading countless praises over at Pricescope, as well as both you and Brian taking the time to explain everything to me, I was in the end put at ease. Seeing previous examples of your work done for other people, I had pretty high expectations. And I must say the moment I opened the box I was totally blown away. I literally sat there playing with it for 20 minutes admiring the ridiculous amount of sparkle your diamond gives off. Thanks again for everything. Garrick

Hello Lesley, I picked up the ring today from the FedEx shipping center and everything looks great. The ring is fantastic and I know my girlfriend will love it. It will be on her hand in exactly two weeks! She will be visiting me during her spring break and I have planned a hike in the mountains near Tucson, Arizona. I plan to pop the question at sunset after the hike is over. It will also be her birthday that day so she is in for a great birthday SURPRISE! I can't wait to give her the ring. I have to say i absolutely love my new huggies earrings. I received it yesterday and it is breathtaking!!! The cut of the diamonds is incredibly sparkly!!!
