At the beginning of April, Yi wrote in with questions about our purchasing and payment process. He was looking to purchase a Brian Gavin Signature hearts and arrow diamond and have us create a custom ring for him: The story behind the ring is: My girlfriend and I are both born on the same day, same year. September 1st. So I want to incorporate our birthstones (sapphires) into the ring. He emailed in some inspiration pictures along with these desired features:

• strands of sapphires, or 2 side sapphires
• Organic (thus the twist)
• Slender (she's a slender build)
• Don't want to obscure the diamond (no bezel), it's best if you can get a good view of it from the top and a good profile view.
• Deep set and non-tangle (I want it to be something that can be worn daily)
• If possible, design a wedding band that goes along with the ring

He spoke with Brian who helped him to select a 0.80 carat Brian Gavin Signature hearts and arrow diamond. They discussed the design of the setting at length and we created the CADs as depicted in the CAD renderings in the gallery below. The setting was cast in platinum, ring size 5, and was set with 2 lines of AA diamond cut blue sapphires and 2 lines of F/G VS Brian Gavin Signature diamond melee. The result was breathtaking: Hello Lesley, I have picked up my ring from the FedEx Station and it is wonderful. Please pass my praises on to Brian and the team.
