Brian Gavin Creates the “Melissa” Platinum Diamond Solitaire Setting with “Truth” Head…

A few posts ago we featured several testimonials and beautiful jewelry projects, one of which was the new “Melissa” diamond solitaire setting with our now famous “Truth” Head. Once again we have had great interest in the setting and so we decided to feature it separately.

THE SPECS

  • The cathedral style shank measures 2.2mm at the bottom tapering to 1.8mm at the top.
  • The head is the 4 prong “Truth” Head.
  • It is available in platinum ($1150) or 18K yellow or white gold ($750) for round, princess cut, radiant cut, asscher cut and cushions cut diamonds from 0.50 – 2 carats. There is a surcharge for diamonds over 2 carats.
  • The diamond in the setting is a 1.02 F VS2 Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamond.

The customer proposed last week and this is the e-mail we received from him yesterday:

Brian and Lesley, SHE SAID YES! :) I wanted to thank you again for all the help with getting this ring designed and made. It looks great on her finger! She loves the ring and has gotten a tremendous amount of compliments about her diamond. Almost everyone makes some comment about how much it sparkles! I proposed in the rose garden next to Cinderella's castle at the Magic Kingdom during the "Wishes" fireworks show. Everything worked out perfect and you both were a big part of that. Brian, you got the size exactly right after our last conversation about sizing. Your ability to interpret my ramblings over the phone is truly amazing. I attached a couple of hand shots that I managed to take with her point and click camera. She likes the ring so much that thus far she has give me free reign to work with you in designing the band to go with it. :) Thanks again, Ben.

Beautiful design! I love the heart shape in the basket. Whats the difference between the 'Melissa' solitaire and the regular 'Truth' solitaire featured on your blog?
